Data Protection

This privacy statement provides a description of Asaya's activities regarding data collected from users who access our website via www.asaya.be or who otherwise share personal data with us. Our privacy statement relates solely to the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. If you provide your data to other parties or on other websites on the internet, different rules may apply to the use or disclosure of the information you have provided to them. Therefore, we encourage you to read the terms and conditions of all external parties to whom you provide information. This privacy statement does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to persons whom we do not employ or manage, including external parties to whom we provide information as set forth in this privacy policy.

REASONS FOR DATA COLLECTION

The processing of your Personal Data (i.e., any information by which your identity can potentially be established using reasonable means; hereinafter: "Personal Data") is necessary for the fulfillment of our contractual obligations entered into with you and for providing our services to you, to protect our legitimate interests, and to comply with the financial and legal obligations applicable to us.

When you use our website, you consent to the collection, storage, use, disclosure, and other use of your Personal Data as described in this privacy statement. We encourage you to read the privacy statement carefully and to use it to make informed decisions.

TYPES OF DATA COLLECTION

We collect two types of data and information from users.

The first type consists of unidentified and non-identifiable information regarding one or more user(s), which may be made available or collected through your use of our website ('Non-Personal Data'). We are not aware of the identity of a user from whom non-personal data has been collected. The non-personal data collected may include aggregated usage data and technical data transmitted by your device, including certain software and hardware data (e.g., the browser and operating system your device uses, your language preference, access time, etc.) to improve the functionality of our Site. We may also collect information about your activities on our website (e.g., pages viewed, browsing behavior, clicks, actions, etc.).

The second type of information concerns Personal Data. This is individually identifiable information by which a person can be traced, whether or not through a reasonable effort. This type of information includes:

  • Device Information: We collect personal data from your device. This data may include location data, IP addresses, unique identifiers (e.g., MAC address and UUID), and other information related to your activities via the site.
  • Registration Information: When you register on our website, we ask you for certain information, such as: full name, email address, and phone number.

The processing of your Personal Data (i.e., any information by which your identity can potentially be established using reasonable means) is necessary for the fulfillment of our contractual obligations entered into with you and for providing our services to you, to protect our legitimate interests, and to comply with the financial and legal obligations applicable to us.

When you use our website, you consent to the collection, storage, use, disclosure, and other use of your Personal Data as described in this privacy statement. We encourage you to read the privacy statement carefully and to use it to make informed decisions.

We receive your personal data from various sources:

  • When you voluntarily provide personal data to us to register on our website;
  • When you use or access our website in connection with your use of our services;

When determining retention periods, we take into account the type of information collected and the purpose for which it was collected, keeping in mind the requirements applicable to the situation and the need to destroy outdated, unused information as quickly as possible. We maintain records containing customers' personal data, account opening documents, communications, and other matters as required by laws and regulations. We may correct, supplement, or delete incomplete or incorrect information at any time and at our own discretion.

COOKIES

We and our trusted partners use cookies and other technologies in our related services, including when you visit our website or use our services. A "cookie" is a small piece of information that a website provides to your device when you view a website. Cookies are very useful and can be used for many different purposes. For example, they can help you by allowing you to navigate efficiently from page to page, by automatically activating certain functions, by remembering your preferences, and by making the interaction between you and our Services faster and easier. Cookies are also used to ensure that the advertisements you see are tailored to you and your interests and to collect statistical data about your use of our Services.

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

  • 'Session cookies' which are only stored temporarily during an internet session so that you can use the system normally. These cookies are removed from your device when the browser is closed.
  • 'Persistent cookies' which are read only by the Site, are stored on your computer for a specific period, and are not deleted when the browser is closed. These cookies are used when we need to know who you are for repeat visits, so we can, for example, save your preferences for the next time you log in.
  • 'Third-party cookies' which are set by other online services that provide content on a page you are viewing, for example, by external data analysis companies that monitor and analyze our web access.

Cookies do not contain any information by which your personal identity can be established, but the Personal Data we store about you may be linked by us to the information stored in and obtained through cookies. You can delete cookies by following the instructions in your device preferences; however, if you choose to disable cookies, certain functions on our site may not work properly, and your online experience may be limited.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

We also use a tool called 'Google Analytics' to collect information about your use of the Site. Google Analytics collects information about how often users visit our website, which pages they visit at those times, and so forth. We use the information we obtain from Google Analytics to improve our website and services. Google Analytics collects your IP address on the day you visit sites, rather than your name or other information that can be used to establish your identity. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personal data. Google's ability to use and share the information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

MARKETING

We may use your personal data, such as your name, email address, and phone number, ourselves or through our external subcontractors to provide you with promotional materials regarding our services that we believe may interest you.

Out of respect for your right to privacy, we provide you with the option within these promotional materials to indicate that you no longer wish to receive advertising offers from us in the future. If you unsubscribe, we will remove your email address or phone number from our marketing list.

Please note: even if you have unsubscribed from our marketing emails, we may still send you other important email communications for which we do not offer an opt-out option. These may include customer service messages or administrative notices.
